Platinum Award!!
Stewarton Winds are delighted to win a Platinum Award for our performance at the National Concert Band Festival in the Francis Tombs Hall at Strathclyde University on Sunday 30 October 2011.
Our programme was:
The adjudicators were NCBF Director Keith Allen and RSAMD Head of Woodwind Heather Nichol.
Keith commented that we gave "an exquisite performance" of 'The Seal Lullaby' before complimenting the band on "a masterful interpretation and performance" of Sam Hazo's 'Arabesque'.
Heather complimented the band on "a lovely resonance to the sound" and summed up that ours was "an excellently crafted performance".
Our next Festival performance is at the Scottish Concert Band Festival at Inveralmond Community High School, Livingston on Sunday 4 December 2011. We take the stage at 6:40pm.
